As you might already know, I am both a Jew and a Gentile. My dad is a Jew and my mom is a Gentile. The Bible talks about the Jew and the Gentile coming together to be one. It is found in the Book of Ezekiel 37: 15-20. In these verses, the Bible talks about the stick of Judah and the stick of Joseph, which will be one in the Lord’s hand. This means that the fullness of the gospel will be in these two sticks, or books, when they are together. Additionally, these verses can be interpreted to mean that the people, the Jews and the Gentiles, will come together and be one in the Lord.
The stick of Judah is the Bible, and the stick of Joseph is the Book of Mormon. The Bible is the stick of Judah, because the Jews who wrote the Bible are of the house of Judah. The Book of Mormon is the stick of Joseph, because Nephi and his descendants who engraved on the brass plates, which were later abridged by his descendant, Mormon, who wrote on golden plates, were all of the tribe of Joseph.
Tonight, for my Personal Scripture Study, I read 1 Nephi 13. In this chapter in the Book of Mormon, it is foretold that precious parts of the Bible will be taken out of the Bible. Also, what is foretold is that another book will come out, among several books, which will all teach that Jesus is the Savior of the world. One of those books will have the words of Nephi, which is the Book of Mormon.
It is amazing to me to see that the coming together of the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and the Jews and Gentiles, was foretold by the prophet Ezekiel. Personally, I would love to see both camps come together in one. It touches my heart to think that we can all be one in faith, one in family, and one in God.
