For Personal Scripture Study, I read 2 Nephi 19, and Isaiah 9, which is quoted. In these chapters is prophesied the coming of Jesus Christ, and His rule and reign. Also, it tells of the wickedness of the people, leading to persecution of the tribe of Judah, and, continuing into the next chapter, the turning away of the poor, and the needy. The wickedness just escalates in this poem. It is difficult at first to see, but when I took the time to study these verses, the meaning of the verses became apparent to me. The moral of the story was: to avoid all of these atrocities from happening, rely on the Lord in all things.
