This past weekend, at church, we had a lesson on following the Prophet, and Mosiah 8, explains what a prophet is. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Prophet who is called of God to be the Lord’s mouthpiece. I also know that I am a prophet over my own household, as long as I am true and faithful to the covenants, or agreements, which I have made with the Lord. After all, in Numbers 11:29, it says, “would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!” To me, it means that it is possible for all of the Lord’s people can be prophets, and receive the promptings of the Holy Ghost, thereby receiving the word of God to direct our own lives.
