An Instrument In The Hands Of God

I pray that I can always remember to want to be ‘an instrument in the hands of God’ just like the sons of Mosiah, in Alma 17:9. I have found that all things happen because of His will. My life on this Earth is so short, especially relative to God’s existence, and His plan.

I know that I will be a more powerful instrument if I obey His commandments. I love the Thirteenth Article Of Faith:

“We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul – We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”

I know that by following the principles in this verse, that I will be a stronger instrument in the hands of God. Then, I will have His Spirit with me more often. I will be able to do His work; and I will be the happiest I can ever be.

So, when I feel tempted, I can remind myself to keep on the path – to be true and faithful – by reciting this verse of scripture. Then, I can avoid temptation. Then, I can substitute that which is spiritual in the place of that which is natural.
