Working, and not being a hinderment of the people, is a principle which I really appreciate, which is taught in the LDS Church. It means that church members, including those who lead congregations, do not live off of those whom they lead. The leaders have their own jobs, outside of working for the congregation, which allows them to make the money they need to sustain themselves. This principle is taught in Mosiah 27:4-5.
