I spent the evening updating the drivers on our Netbook, and sending messages to friends by email and through Facebook.
How many times have I tried to share something important, and I felt rejected because others were not listening. I felt disappointed and let down, but I didn’t give up. I just kept trying, and often what happens is that just when I am about to give up, I achieve some kind of success.
What comes to mind are the various times that I have been in the right place at the right time. I have been home teaching, and I have contact with someone who has not been seen in years. I meet them as they are going out their door. Or, Misty and I come and see them, and that same person invites us in and serves us Martinelli’s sparkling cider at Christmas time.
Just like Alma did, in Alma 8:8-32, when an angel of the Lord came down and visited him, and the angel said, in verse 15, “Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice; for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God . . .”
So, all I need to do is to rejoice that I am keeping the commandments, and then humbly trust in the Lord that He will look after me. It is part of the plan. I just might be tried to my fullest abilities, but I need to be true and faithful. What I mean by true is that I need to be true like a straight arrow flies true. It never wavers from its path to its target. This is what I need to do. Just don’t quit. Do it!
