This morning, we met a friend at Doheny Beach, in Dana Point, for the Walk To End Alzheimer’s Disease. We had lots of nice things to talk about.
After that, we came home. I worked around the house while Misty got her nails done. Then, we went to Oggi’s to watch the Angels-Indians Baseball Game. After that, we came back home and watched an episode of “Hunter”.
The Lord has delivered me, as He delivered the people of Limhi, from bondage (in Mosiah 25:16), when I was baptized into His Church by those with His authority. I say this with all the humility and thankfulness I have within me. This was done through His grace and love for me, for I have sinned. I am an unprofitable servant. He does not need me, but He loves me so much that He continually gives me ‘another chance’.
His authority to baptize was given to Peter, James, and John, and the other apostles, as it is recorded in the New Testament. They died without giving that authority to anyone else, so that authority left this earth; until the same Peter, James, and John, came to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, and restored the authority which was lost. Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery gave the authority to others, because they had the authority to give. This authority has been given ever since, until I was also given that authority to perform the Lord’s sacred ordinances. So, the authority to perform these ordinances have also been delivered by the power of the Lord, for us to be blessed with this day.
