When Nonviolence Works

I received a great response from last night’s blog post. A friend of mine said:

Nonviolence will work if everyone, and I mean everyone, abides by it. But as long as one person is violent towards another, especially a child or vulnerable adult, someone has to stop them—and doing so may require violence towards the perp. [Sigh] on and on it goes…..That’s why I believe self-defense should be taught in school, as many attacks can be stopped calmly by those with good training.

I agree. Staying calm when defending oneself is key; but that is the most difficult thing to do; at least for me. Alma 25 continues, with others laying down their arms.
