Christ’s Spirits

I had a very interesting discussion with a friend about how we are spiritual beings having earthly experiences, and not earthly beings having spiritual experiences. I had the opportunity to share with him a lesson we had a church about a week and a half ago that, right now, my spirit inhabits my physical body.

My spirit existed before it entered my body, and my spirit entered my body at birth; and when my body expires my spirit will leave my body and continue to exist. I also explained that when my spirit leaves my body, I will continue to work, and continue to smile and be happy, if I do that which is right during my earthly existence. We do not know how many spirits are available to have bodies, but Satan and his followers never get a body, and inhabit the bodies of those who submit to his evil temptations. I shared that spirits are all around us. So, Heaven and Hell are not really places, but conditions of the spirit, in either a condition of peace, or otherwise.

We talked about those who have depression, and those who commit suicide; and they get so caught up in their misery, that they forget about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and that it has the power to rescue us when we feel down.

Thinking of this principle brings me to my reading, in Moroni 1:3, in which the prophet, Moroni, writes that he will not deny the Christ. Since I have felt the redeeming power of the Atonement, I too cannot deny the Christ.
