It was a really nice day, and the end of a really nice weekend. We woke up and went over to my friend’s, and he and his wife, and their daughter, served us breakfast. It was absolutely delicious! He cooked French Toast. His wife put together a bowl of fruit; and his daughter made some pumpkin biscuits. Then, we watched General Conference together. After that, we went over to another friend’s and had scones and crepes with whomever showed up. It was neat to congregate between sessions. We returned home and then watched the Afternoon Session of General Conference.
We took an hour nap and then started dinner. We cooked brown rice, which really turned out well, in our rice cooker. It had been a long time since we had used our rice cooker, and we were not sure how it was going to turn out. We also had taquitos and broccoli.
While dinner was cooking, we put up some Halloween decorations. After dinner, we cleaned up the guinea pig’s cage, changed the sheets on the bed, and folded the laundry. We did get a lot done today (in addition to killing four rats last night. That’s eight rats this week!).
Before making this post on our blog, I have added some categories to the blog. There are so many entries, that I feel that they need to be organized better. So, I have started adding categories for each Book of the Book of Mormon, starting with the Introductory Pages.
Just as I have done, twenty four times before, the last time being Wednesday, January 26, 2011, I started reading the introductory pages of Book of Mormon again, starting with the Joseph Smith History. I read all the way up to when Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appear to Joseph Smith.
After yesterday’s revelation, that I should be an obedient son of God, I have an even deeper appreciation of this event. I know that my Heavenly Father lives, and so does His Son. I know that Jesus is the Son of God. I know that they love me, because I have read what they have said, and they have expressed their love for me, and for all of us here on earth. I know that Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross for me. I know that Heavenly Father allowed His Son to suffer for me, because He loves me too!
During General Conference, one speaker, I believe it was Dallin H. Oaks, was asked by someone, that which I could never ask, what have they done for me?
Here is the entry from the previous time which I started the Book of Mormon: Starting To Read The Book of Mormon Again
