Just like Nephi, I desire to write of the ‘things of God’, to testify that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, exists, because I have seen His work! I write about the things which are pleasing to God, and to those who are not of the world. Oh, how beautiful are the desires of God! I write about things which are profitable to me, and to my spirit brothers and sisters. I know that we are all spirit brothers and sisters, and so I write in order to profit us all.
I appreciate the opportunity to write down these thoughts, because they inspire me to do good, and to please Him. What I write is my appreciation for my God, who loves me very much, who gives me so much, and so I must give.
This reminds me of one of my favorite hymns: ‘Because I Have Been Given Much, I Too Must Give’. These are the lyrics:
“Because I have been given much, I too must give; Because of thy great bounty, Lord, each day I live I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care, I cannot see another’s lack and I not share my glowing fire, my loaf of bread, my roof’s safe shelter over head, that he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord, I’ll share thy love again, according to thy word. I shall give love to those in need; I’ll show that love by word and deed: thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.”
This is what I wrote the previous time that I read 1 Nephi Chapter 6: Come Unto The God Of Abraham And Be Saved.
