It was a very productive day. We shopped for groceries, and did some Christmas shopping. This evening, we watched “Miracle on 34th Street”. What a classic!
What impresses me most about the love of God is it compares with the other types of love. Today, I reminded myself of the different types of love – agape, philo, and eros – and how they relate to the love of God. The love of God can be either agape, or philo. Eros is totally different, and is only appropriate within the bonds of marriage.
This knowledge has helped me to understand what love I should feel. It helps me to channel my feelings so that I can fulfill God’s purposes. It helps me to have feelings which are appropriate in different situations. It helps me to be more Christ-like, a better friend, and a better husband.
This is what I wrote previously after reading 2 Nephi 16: Isaiah’s Commission From The Lord
