The Sticks Of Judah And Ephraim

In Elders Quorum, I was set apart as the Second Counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency. I now have three callings: also that of Ward Missionary; and Ward Chorister. What fun!

This evening, I sang at the Annual Temple Worker’s Devotional with the OCMCO. What a great experience! It was neat to see people with whom I had worked.

A very powerful prophecy of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon is found in Ezekiel 37:16-17:

“Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: and join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.”

The stick of Judah is the Bible, and the stick of Ephraim is The Book of Mormon. The tribe of Judah, or the Jews, have the Old Testament. This truth and principle is explained in 2 Nephi 3:12. Lehi’s, and subsequently Nephi’s, descendents, were of the tribe of Ephraim, because Nephi married Ishmael’s daughter, who was an Ephraimite. The writing of both of these books testifies that Jesus is the Christ!

It was not until the coming forth of The Book of Mormon that this truth has been revealed. Before, many theories were postulated; but now we know!

This is what I wrote previously after reading 2 Nephi 3:  Prophesy of the Book of Mormon and the Bible Supporting Each Other, In Truth
