Here is a great verse:
“feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.” (2 Nephi 32:3)
Now there is a mouthful, and I truly believe it! I have found that by not only by studying the words of Christ, but by actually taking them in, as spiritual food, I am given direction in my life.
For example, the words of Christ tell me:
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasues in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21; 3 Nephi 13:19-21)
For me, laying up my treasures in heaven means building the kingdom of God. It means building Zion, being a tool in the hand of God. It means serving others so they may see the Lord’s work through me, even though I am an unprofitable servant, hoping that the Holy Ghost will testify of the fruitfulness of my labors. It means not being selfish, by trying to build my own kingdom. I give all of the glory, and credit, to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Ghost.
This is what I wrote previously after reading 2 Nephi 32: I Am Thankful For The Power Of Prayer
