Since I stayed up late last night watching a few shows, I also woke up late this morning. It is nice to be able to relax a little. Although, I often have to remind myself about how I am spending my time.
We had a little rain this morning, but the sun is out this afternoon.
I know a few people who are against Organized Religion; and I agree with them, in the sense that when churches do not care for those outside of their system of belief, thereby neglecting the welfare of all of our brothers and sisters.
I thought about this matter after reading these verses:
“Now I would that ye should understand that the word of God was liberal unto all, that none were deprived of the privilege of assembling themselves together to hear the word of God.
Nevertheless the children of God were commanded that they should gather themselves together oft, and join in fasting and mighty prayer in behalf of the welfare of the souls of those who knew not God.” (Alma 6:5-6).
As I understand, God cares about everyone, and I think that sometimes churches do not care about those outside of their faith, because those people are not paying the salary of the ministers of those churches. That is why ministers should get paid for, but should volunteer, their services. Then, the paycheck would not be an issue.
Also, we should care about our brothers and sisters, because we all have the same Heavenly Father. He loves each and every one of us, and we should be like Him. We too should love each other.
I just thought about one of my favorite hymns, ‘Love One Another’. These are the lyrics:
“As I have of loved you,
Love one another.
This new commandment:
Love one another.
By this shall men know
Ye are my disciples.
If ye have love,
One to another.”
This is what I previously wrote after reading Alma 6: Some Modern Appearances Of Jesus Christ
