Witnessing An Answer To Prayer

I was supposed to go out visiting with a friend, but he canceled on me. So, I called my parents instead and talked with them for a while. It occurs to me more and more that the gospel is all about spending time with those you love.

Heavenly Father wants us to be together forever, and the only way that we can be with Heavenly Father is to obey His commandments. Heavenly Father does not tolerate sin, not even the slight bit of dirt. Although, if we repent, then the Atonement of Jesus Christ allows us to be with Heavenly Father, and our Spirit Brothers and Sisters, forever. That is what Jesus Christ did for us. That is why He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane, for our sins. He knew what we would experience. He experienced it for us. That is why He died on the cross, to show us that we will be resurrected someday.

We will put on incorruptible bodies, and we will be judged for what we do this day. I hope and pray that I can do better to receive the promised blessings, according to the covenants I have made with Heavenly Father, so that I may live with Him again.

Although, I appreciate the here and now, of the presence of the Holy Ghost, which I enjoy as I live His commandments today. I appreciate the opportunity to be tool in His hand in bringing others to a knowledge of His truth. I appreciate the wonderful beauty of this existence. What a glorious gift it is!

I was told taht a friend told her mother that she was going to be nicer. That is wonderful! She has been kind of difficult. I have had the opportunity to be there for my friend. I can see that my visits are very fruitful, because I have the chance to be there, so she can ask questions, some very important questions; and her mother is not there at those times, because she is out with her boyfriend. Although, I do not want to judge the mother. She is a single parent, and I am sure that it has been hard on her. I am happy to be of assistance, at this time, to help raise our wonderful little friend.

Actually, this is an answer to my prayers, because, after my visit last Saturday, I was very concerned about my friend’s welfare; but I feel that Heavenly Father is answering my prayers in her behalf, just like He answered the prayers of these people:

“And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage.

And I will ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.” (Mosiah 24:13-14)

To see someone you love go through trials is an affliction. To see that loved one turn themself around is deliverance from bondage.
