Happy Birthday Misty! We celebrated Misty’s birthday today. We started off by having breakfast at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP). Then, we went bowling at Saddleback Lanes. After that, we went to Laguna Beach and had lunch at BJ’s. On the way back to the car, we stopped off for ice cream. Misty had some Haagen-Dazs and I stopped off for some Gelato. It was delicious, and we had a very fun day.
This evening, I went out visted with a member and his family. I tried to make other appointments but no one was available.
A friend is going through a bitter divorce. It is all that we can do to try and encourage them. It is sad to see them in this way. It is sad to see the pain through which they are going. Although, we are still trying to encourage them to be Christ-like. It is kind of makes you wonder if there was ever love in that marriage.
This is very similar to what happens when one disbelieves in the gospel after once being converted:
“And thus we can plainly discern, that after a people have been once enlightened by the Spirit of God, and have had great knowledge of things pertaining to righteousness, and then have fallen away into sin and transgression, they become more hardened, and thus their state becomes worse than though they had never known these things.” (Alma 24:30)
Fortunately, Misty and I have each other, and we are passionately in love with each other. We try to be good examples. Although, we have a lot to learn; and we have the Spirit to teach us.
This is what I previously wrote after reading Alma 24: Does Nonviolence Work?
