Growing Through God’s Providence

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I slept in until 9 AM. I am not sure why. We went to bed at our usual time. I guess it must have been because it was Saturday and it was raining. The sound of the rain is very soothing.

The rain let up for Mormal, and the quartet sounded pretty well. We received many compliments.

“But notwithstanding their riches, or their strength, or their prosperity, they were not lifted up in the pride of their eyes; neither were they slow to remember the Lord their God; but they did humble themselves exceedingly before him.

Yea, they did remember how great things the Lord had done for them, that he had delivered them from death, and from bonds, and from prisons, and from all manner of afflictions, and he had delivered them out of the hands of their enemies.

And they did pray unto the Lord their God continually, insomuch that the Lord did bless them, according to his work, so that they did wax strong and prosper in the land.” (Alma 62:49-51)

I try to remember that my riches, strength, and prosperity, come from the Lord; although, it is easy to forget when I have succeeded. As these verses suggest, I need to remember the spiritual bondage that I did experience when I did not know about God’s power. For this reason, I need to continually pray unto God, thanking Him for my blessings every moment of the day. Then, I will grow stronger, and even more prosperous, through God’s providence.

This is what I previously wrote after reading Alma 62:  Remain Humble During The Conflict
