How God Protects Against Evil

It is interesting that after just studying whom I don’t want to emulate, I am now presented with whom I do, who is Moroni, just like I mentioned the last time I read Alma 48, on June 27, 2011, in ‘The Man I Aspire To Be’. His main purpose was to prepare:

“to support their liberty, their lands, their wives, and their children, and their peace, and that they might live unto the Lord their God, and that they might maintain that which was called by their enemies the cause of Christians.” (Alma 48:10)

What a wonderful goal! That is that which I should probably also aspire to do.

Fortunately, today, I do not have a physical war, but I do have a spiritual war. Therefore, I must don spiritual armor, the Armor of God, that I “may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11).

For I “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Here is a description of this armor:

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Ephesians 6:13-20)

For me, these passages mean that the Armor of God will protect me, to boldly share the Gospel of Peace.

In the past, I briefly touched on the Armor of God, on April 22, 2011, in My Daily Fight Against Satan
