After work, Misty and I took a walk, for exercise. We went across Los Alisos to the Wilderness Glen Ranch Road and explored around the small part of that trail at the southwest corner of Trabuco and Los Alisos. After that, we came home and had dinner, Family Scripture Study, and viewed a little of what was happening at the Angels – As Baseball game from our HTPC.
I received a call from my dad, that my sister might be working at the place she did her externship in Irvine. That is great news! I did receive a disappointing phone from a friend. He is not interested in learning about the gospel. I told him that it was very thoughtful for him to call. I also asked Misty to pay our neighbors for the work they have done on our cars. He will not be doing many more repairs on cars, because he is going in for surgery and will be down for two months.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (3 Nephi 13: 33).
Jesus also said this during His mortal ministry. In the Joseph Smith translation of Luke, it says:
“Therefore seek ye to bring forth the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Joseph Smith Translation, Luke 12: 31).
I always try to remind myself how important it is to remember these things, because then I am trying to give back at least a little to my Heavenly Father that I can give to Him, even though it so insufficient. I am showing that I love Him. I am trying to do His will. I am giving Him the glory. I am also laying my treasures in heaven, which is all around me.
This is what I previously wrote after reading 3 Nephi 13: Building His Eternal Kingdom
