What a wonderful day in which to live! Jesus promised that He would give us a sign, which would indicate that the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant will begin to manifest:
“that I shall gather in, from their long dispersion, my people, O house of Israel, and shall establish again among them my Zion” (3 Nephi 21: 1)
Jesus started this ‘gathering’ when He appeared to Joseph Smith, in 1820. Then, He sent Moroni to give to Joseph Smith the golden plates, so they could be translated by the power of the Holy Ghost. This translation became the Book of Mormon. By reading the Book of Mormon, praying that it is true, and receiving a witness from the Holy Ghost that it is true, the house of Israel is gathered, spiritually. Then, as these saints apply what they have learned from reading the Book of Mormon, they build Zion. This is the sign, and I testify that it is happening today, just as Jesus prophesied that it would happen.
I have seen people of different faiths coming together in one, as a result of reading the Book of Mormon. I know a man, in San Juan Capistrano, who was going to be a minister of a different faith. He was attending Yale School of Divinity. He read the Book of Mormon, and was converted.
I, myself, come from a very diverse religious background; and I thank God for the truths which have gathered me back into the house of Israel. For, I was lost from whom I was. I was doing things that I should not have been doing, but the truth and repentance has lead me back into the fold.
I know of other Jews who have been lead back to the truth. I know one in Aliso Viejo; and I have a cousin in Toronto, Canada. We are all thankful for how the Restored Gospel has brought us together.
Genealogy work has also gathered us together, and the sealing ordinances of the temple have bound us for eternity. My family is growing stronger as we do the work for our ancestors, and build our eternal family.
I am completely, and thoroughly, thankful for this wonderful work of God; and because Jesus prophesied that it would happen, He is the prophet that Moses said would come to usher in these days. (Deuteronomy 18:15-16)
This is what I previously wrote after reading 3 Nephi 21: Choosing To Gain Or Lose Everything
