Jesus’ Work After His Ascension

Last night, Misty and I were tired, and we were preparing for a day at Disneyland on Saturday, so we went to bed early. Today, we got to Disneyland at 8:30 AM, and stayed there until 5 PM. We went on a few rides in the morning, but mainly we were there so that Misty could take pictures. We mainly camped out at the Tomorrowland Terrace, right next to ‘Finding Nemo”. She thinks she got some pretty neat shots.

The culminating point of the Book of Mormon is Jesus’ work among the Israelites who came to America, after His resurrection and ascension. This is the reason that the Book of Mormon was written: to testify that Jesus is the Christ, the Redeemer of the world. In the Book of Mormon, in the book of 3 Nephi, chapter 17, it explains how He worked among these people. He taught them doctrine. He healed their sick, and afflicted, liked he did in Israel. He prayed with them. This is part of what He prayed for:

“And it came to pass that when they had knelt upon the ground, Jesus groaned within himself, and said: Father, I am troubled because of the wickedness of the people of the house of Israel.” (3 Nephi 17: 14)

In this part of His prayer, He was praying for all of the house of Israel, over all the earth, at that time. Now, we are still wicked, because we all sin. I am so sorry for that.

I pray that I can do better. It is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that I can be redeemed of my sins; because He is the only perfect person who has ever lived upon this earth; and He is the Son of God. He is my Redeemer; and I don’t appreciate His work enough, when I sin. Again, I pray that I can do better.

This is what I previously wrote after reading 3 Nephi 17:  Jesus’ Compassion (Oh, To Be Like Him!)
