I am thankful for my freedom to choose, which God has given to me. So many people in the world do not feel free. There are many reasons for this to happen, but bondage is a fallacy. It is one of Satan’s illusions. Satan wants us to be bound to him through sin, which he manifests through greed, hatred, insecurity, envy, and many other spiritual devices. Although, the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that we are children of our Heavenly Father, and even though we sin, if we repent, the Atonement of Jesus Christ allows for our sins to be forgiven; and then, we are free to start again anew.
“And now remember, remember, my brethren that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free.
He hath given unto you that ye might know good from evil, and he hath given unto you that ye might choose life or death; and ye can do good and be restored unto that which is good, or ye can do evil, and have that which is evil restored unto you.” (Helaman 14: 30-31)
I remember that when I came from Michigan, in 1992, after being thrown out of school, my dad told me that that world is my oyster; and I believe that to this day. The world is what I appreciate of it. I can make the world a beautiful place, or not. For me, it is what I make of it.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
I am bound when I sin. As I repent, through Christ’s atonement, I am forgiven, and I am freed from my bonds.
“Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” (Philippians 4:1)
Stand fast and be free!
This is what I previously wrote after reading Helaman 14: The Law Of Karma
