I heard Lucy meow a little bit this morning. She seems to be contented now while sitting perched on the barbecue. She also is very fortunate, for there are those who would treat her badly; and there are governments who would treat me badly for my expression of my religious beliefs. I am indeed blessed by the Lord in this land of religious freedom.
“And never could be a people more blessed than were they, and more prospered by the hand of the Lord. And they were in a land that was choice above all lands, for the Lord had spoken it.” (Ether 10: 28)
I am indeed in a land that is choice above all other lands. Even the poor in this land are better off than the poor in other lands. Although, that is not to say that I should keep what I have been given to myself. If I share, I will continue to reap abundant blessings from the Lord. But, if I don’t share, then I will be cut off from the presence of the Lord, just like this:
“And he did do justice unto the people, but not unto himself because of his many whoredoms; wherefore he was cut off from the presence of the Lord.” (Ether 10: 11)
Therefore, I should not be selfish.
This is what I previously wrote after reading Ether 10: Governments Should Pursue A Righteous Cause
